This scholarship was created by Dr. William Halloran with gifts made to honor his retirement and service to the University as a former Dean of the College of Letters & Science.

The late Dr. McPherson served as a professor of Electrical Engineering at UWM from 1967 until his death in 1995. His wife, Edith, with family and friends, established the scholarship in his memory. Edith passed away in 2017.
