Dr. Paul Fischer

Dr. Paul Fischer created this scholarship in 2023, the year of his retirement from UWM. Dr. Fischer served as a professor and the chair of the UWM accounting area for more than 50 years. His areas of specialization include financial reporting issues with an emphasis on leasing, business and combinations, segment reporting, capital budgeting, and deferred compensation. Dr. Fischer taught financial accounting in the undergraduate program and managerial accounting in the Executive MBA Program. In partnership with Professor William J. Taylor, Fischer offered a CPA Review course to 4,000 students over 25 years. He takes pride in the success of all these programs and of the many UWM students who have passed the CPA exam and have excelled in their professional endeavors.
