Estate of Walter J. Mundschau ?61 and Ruth C. Mundschau `60
Both UWM alumni, Walter Mundschau (1935-2015) received his undergraduate degree in Accounting in 1961, and his wife Ruth (1938-2007) received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education in 1960. ?Walt? led Kalmbach Publishing as its President from 1981-2007, during an era of significant growth. Ruth was a teacher and community volunteer.
Impact
Walt and Ruth cared deeply about UWM, education, and providing opportunities for students. In his obituary, Walt is quoted as saying, ?I wish all children had the same opportunity as my children and grandchildren.? Their estate plans generously included a provision for establishing endowed scholarships for both the UWM School of Education and the Lubar School of Business.
