Global Studies Virtual Internship Competition

The Global Studies program is offering support for two Global Studies majors to participate in virtual 3-credit internship in Summer 2021.

To qualify you must be a declared Global Studies major with sophomore, junior or senior standing. Preference will be given to students who have not previously completed an internship for credit with demonstrated financial need. Applicants will be required to submit an essay. All applications will be due March 1.

Selected students will be interning through either The Intern Group or Evolve Abroad. The scholarship will cover the full cost of a customized virtual placement in a host organization abroad related to the students’ track and in most cases language preferences. Additional services may be provided such as access to classes, career advancement opportunities, keynote speakers series, and career coaching. Additionally, up to two finalists will be offered a $500 credit toward the costs of an internship placement with The Intern Group. The recipient(s) should also plan to be enrolled in Global 489 the International Internship course at UWM while completing their internship online; the cost of these credits are not included in the scholarship.
