How to Apply for Scholarships

Admitted and current students have a Panther Scholarship Portal profile created based on their UWM student record. Sign in using your ePantherID and complete the General Application to match with scholarships in one of two ways:

  • Auto-Match Scholarships do not have any additional questions beyond the General Application, and you are matched automatically if you satisfy the qualifications. No further action is required! You will not be able to see these matches in your Recommended Opportunities, but your profile information will be forwarded to the committee(s) administering each scholarship. About 85% of UWM’s scholarships are auto-match opportunities based on the General Application and/or a school/college secondary application.
  • Apply-To Scholarships require additional questions or items (like a resume or reference) for you to be considered. When you’re signed in, apply-to scholarships will appear in your list of Recommended Opportunities, and an "Apply” button will be available under the Actions column. You must submit a scholarship-specific application to be considered. About 15% of UWM’s scholarships are apply-to opportunities.

Qualifying and/or applying does not guarantee that you will be offered a scholarship.
