Ian J. Elliott Memorial Scholarship

The Ian J. Elliott Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000 award intended to help cover expenses related to overseas internship, overseas study abroad, or virtual study abroad (i.e. fees, airfare, room and board, transportation). Students must be enrolled as a UWM student and a declared major in Global Studies or International Studies. Qualified applicants will also have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and will have been approved (or be in the process of seeking approval) for a study abroad or internship program for the Summer or Fall of 2021.

There is still uncertainty about when safe travel can resume due to the pandemic. If the student selected for this scholarship is unable to travel in Summer or Fall of 2021 because of travel restriction, the scholarship will be held and can be used by the student in a future semester for study abroad up until the semester of graduation.

For optimal consideration, students should fill out these parts of the general scholarship application:

  • Co-curricular Activities
  • Community Service and Volunteer Work
  • Work Experience
  • Academic and Career Goals

You may edit your general application at any time prior to the deadline for the Ian J. Elliott Memorial Scholarship.
