Greater Milwaukee Foundation Mary Jo Read Undergraduate Scholarship

The Mary Jo Read Geography Fund, with estimated assets of more than $1 million, will benefit students in the Department of Geography by providing scholarships, fellowships, and merit awards to students who demonstrate academic excellence in the field. Specifically, the fund earmarks this scholarship for juniors and seniors with a declared major in Geography at UWM. This scholarship is for the 2021-22 school year so students graduating in December 2020 or May 2021 are not eligible.

Criteria for this scholarship include:

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Junior or Senior standing by August 31, 2021
  • Full-time enrollment
  • Strong letter of recommendation from a geography professor or teacher
  • Financial need may be considered but is not required.
