Boren Fellowship

Boren Fellowships are for U.S. graduate students committed to long-term overseas study and to public service. Boren awardees receive funding to study the languages most critical to our nation’s security in regions of the world of critical interest to the USA. Funding is provided through the National Security Education Program (NSEP).

Basic Eligibility

• U.S. citizen
• Can apply before but must be a matriculated graduate student at the time of participation
• Meet the language and destination requirements of the award
• Must have an interest in national security and public service
