Walker & Walker Law Offices is a family-run bankruptcy firm that has served Minnesotans for more than 40 years. With offices across Minnesota, the firm has helped individuals and families overcome debt, rebuild credit, and regain financial stability through services such as Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy, credit repair, and debt relief. In the same spirit of perseverance and renewal, Walker & Walker Law Offices proudly offers the 2026 Bounce Back Scholarship. This scholarship recognizes students who have experienced financial challenges and demonstrated the strength to rise above them, whether through their own experiences or by witnessing hardship faced by a family. member or someone close to them.
Applicants are invited to share a personal story about a financial low point caused by circumstances such as job loss, debt, medical expenses, or other financial hardship. Students should reflect on what they learned from the experience and how they, their family, or others found the determination to recover and move forward.
Interested students should review the eligibility and application requirements and submit their application by August 31, 2026. The provided form can be found on Walker & Walker’s website.
Eligibility:
- The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, vocational student, college student, or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and who is enrolled in a vocational program or two to four year post-secondary institution.
- Employees of Walker & Walker Law Offices, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), and persons living in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not), are not eligible to participate in the competition.
- Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.
Application Requirements:
- The candidate must fill out the required form (found on Walker & Walker’s website) with all necessary information.
- The candidate must submit a 750-1,000-word essay response to the prompt: Life doesn’t always go as planned, especially financially. Share a time when you, your family, or someone you know hit a financial low point, whether due to job loss, debt, medical expenses, or another reason. What did you learn from that experience, and how did you bounce back?
- Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. If AI writing is deemed present in the essay, the application will be denied.
- The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their experience, both professional and academic
- The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school and the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students can submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
- Preference will be given to students either from or attending a secondary school in the state (MN)
The recipient of the 2026 Bounce Back Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.
