School of Education Teacher Excellence Scholarship
Awarded to all incoming first-year students who satisfy the following criteria:
- Apply to UW-Milwaukee by January 1.
- Are admitted to the School of Education and enrolled in a Teaching Certification Program.
- Earn a cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 or higher (as calculated by the UWM Office of Undergraduate Admissions).
- Commit to UWM and register for fall semester classes by August 1.
This scholarship is renewable for up to four years total if applicants continue to satisfy the following criteria:
- Enroll full-time in a Teaching Certification Program within the School of Education during the semester(s) in which they are to receive the scholarship.
- Earn a UWM cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Continue satisfactory academic progress toward program completion.
Scholarship recipients who maintain eligibility receive $12,000 total over the life of the award, as follows:
- Year 1: $2000
- Year 2: $2000
- Year 3: $4000
- Year 4: $4000
The Teacher Excellence Scholarship is a financial commitment from the School of Education to the student. The School of Education may replace the award for one or more academic years with a named scholarship of equal value. Should this occur, the student will be notified via email.
