Legacy Scholarship

Awarded to select undergraduate students enrolled in the Lubar College of Business who satisfy the following criteria:

• Academic Merit (min. 3.0 cumulative GPA)
• Financial Need
• Resident of the City of Milwaukee
• First-Generation College Student (neither parent earned a baccalaureate degree)

Awardees must also demonstrate one or more of the following:

• Participation in a professional development and/or mentoring program supporting diversity in business and/or other professions.
• Significant engagement with or service to the African-American/Black community.
• Commitment to or interest in racial equity, diversity, or social justice, shown through personal statements, and/or evidence of participation in community or UWM groups or activities with this focus.
• Experience significant barriers to achieving higher education, such as experience in foster care, living in a single-parent household, responsibilities for providing financial support or primary care for other household members, or overcoming personal adversity or family hardship.
