Ted Samore Scholarship
Awarded to select School of Information Studies (SOIS) new and continuing graduate students satifying the following criteria:
enrolled part or full-time in the Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS) program within SOIS
-completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), if applicable
-academic merit (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0)
-maintain satisfactory academic progress in the MLIS program
-earn at least a B in all core classes
-registered for a minimum of 3 INFOST credits by May 1
This scholarship is named in honor of Professor Theodore (Ted) Samore, who retired at the end of the 1989-1990 academic year after 24 years of dedicated service to the field of Library Science. Samore, known for his commitment to students as a teacher and mentor, set a high standard for research in the field.
