Art & Design Department Scholarship Application for Sophomores & Juniors
The Sophomore and Junior Art & Design Department Scholarship Application occurs virtually. Students interested in participating will create a simple Adobe Express page (Adobe Creative Cloud Subscription is not required to create an Express page) and upload 10-15 of their strongest images or a video of their work.
How to decide what to submit:
Seek input from your major area professors and course instructors! Set up a virtual or in-person appointment with them to have them review your images before submitting your scholarship application. Sophomores can also schedule appointments to review portfolios of work with Cynthia Hayes, Melissa Wagner-Lawler, Angie Piehl, Robert Grame, or Katie Martin-Meurer.
What if I have another website I use? Can I submit that?
No, submissions are limited to Adobe Express pages alone for consistency in formatting and judging purposes. Additionally, you must create a new page for the purposes of this scholarship application to adhere to the guidelines or you must edit an existing Adobe Spark/Express page to conform to the guidelines as stated below:
- Your name at the top of the Adobe Spark/Express Page
- 150-250 word Artist Statement
- 10-15 images or videos (1-2 minutes per video) maximum
- Label each work with the title, size, media, and year completed. Indicate for each piece which class it was created for, and if possible, denote the assignment.
