Morris & Miriam Marden Undergraduate Award in Mathematics

Awarded to one or more outstanding majors (Math, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Applied Math and Computer Science) in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Priority in the selection process will be given to students who submit an outstanding paper on a mathematical topic. Both quality of exposition and mathematical content will be evaluated. The paper does not need to be written specifically for the Marden Award; papers originally written for coursework, independent study, or other reasons are acceptable. Applicants who choose not to submit a paper may also be considered based on their academic record at the discretion of the faculty review committee. Second-degree students are not eligible. Awards given in spring are for the following school year, students graduating that same spring or summer are not eligible.

Applications reviewed in spring are for the following fall semester. e.g. applications reviewed in spring 2025 are for payment in the fall 2025; students graduating in May or August 2025 are not eligible. Second degree students are also not eligible.
