Baker Tilly's Now for Tomorrow Scholarship

This scholarship is designed for students enrolled in the Sheldon B. Lubar College of Business, in a program leading to a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology Management (ITM). Students must be a US citizen or permanent resident alien and have a 3.0 Minimum cumulative GPA, demonstrated financial need by filing a FAFSA and demonstrated interest in or commitment to one or more of the following:

  • Histories and cultures of Black, Latinx, Asian and/or Native American people or communities.
  • Service to Black, Latinx, Asian and/or Native American people or communities
  • Promotion of equity, inclusion, or social justice for Black, Latinx, Asian and/or Native American people or communities.

Applicants may meet this criterion through personal statements, history of employment or volunteer service (list on the General Application), academic coursework, or involvement in the community, UWM, or student organizations or activities with the required focus (list on the General Application).

In addition:

Accounting majors criteria::

  • Awarded in junior year to those declared and accepted into accounting major
  • Intention to sit for CPA exam
Finance or ITM majors criteria:
  • Awarded in sophomore year to those intending to pursue Finance or ITM major

Each scholarship shall be renewable for two additional academic years, provided the recipient maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA and maintains enrollment in one of the three academic fields described above. If an accounting student, the recipient must enroll in the Lubar College of Business MSPA program with the intention to take the CPA exam to receive the second renewal of the scholarship (third year).Children of current Baker Tilly, US, LLP employees are not eligible for this scholarship.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, this scholarship shall be awarded to a student majoring in Accounting meeting the above criteria.
