Department of Biological Sciences Undergraduate Student Awards

The Department of Biological Sciences offers several different scholarships and awards to sophomores, juniors and seniors majoring in biological sciences, conservation and environmental science, or microbiology. The size of awards varies from $500 up to $1,500.

This single application is used to apply for all department scholarships and awards for 2023-24. Please note that information entered in the general UWM scholarship application will not be considered by the Biological Sciences Awards Committee. However, we encourage you to thoroughly enter this information because it is used to match you with other scholarship opportunities including the College of Letters & Science Dean’s Office scholarships which biology, CES, and microbiology majors are eligible for. Students with a completed general application will be considered for these in March 2023.

Students must leave enough time prior to the application deadline for your letter of recommendation to be received. Therefore, students are advised to apply well before the deadline of February 15.
