The Robert & Beatrice Huber Memorial Scholarship

The Robert & Beatrice Huber Memorial Scholarship

John Huber served as the first Student Government President at UW-Waukesha from 1966-68. As SGA President, Huber spoke on behalf of the student body at the official campus dedication back in 1967, with former leaders that included UW President Fred Harrington and Governor Warren Knowles.

Huber earned a B.A. from Mount St. Paul College, Waukesha; a M.S. from UW-Milwaukee and also completed Doctorial Studies at the University of Maryland. He has more than 45 years of service in national and international nonprofit organizations, including chief executive and senior level positions including Goodwill Industries, Lupus Foundation of America, March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, American Urological Association Foundation and the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation in Maryland.
Mary Beth Huber is a graduate of Mount Mary University, with a BS in Education. She received her Masters’ degree in Reading Education from West Virginia State University. She retired in 2016 after a career in nonprofit organizations, particularly in rare disease patient education.

Impact

The Hubers appreciate the opportunity a two-year university offers to students who may not have the resources or support to begin at a four-year institution. John Huber was a first-generation college student, who attended UW-Waukesha. Although his parents did not attend college, they were advocates for higher education and the UW-System— his father, Rober, as a member of the Wisconsin Assembly including two terms as majority leader and chair of the State Highway Commission.
