The late Mary Layde and the Layde family
The Durward C. Layde Memorial Scholarship was created by the late Mary Layde, spouse of Dr. Durward Layde, and continues to be funded by members of the Layde family. Dr. Layde taught Chemistry at UWM beginning with UW Extension in 1939 through his retirement.
Impact
The family hopes to honor Dr. Layde’s memory and legacy at UWM with this support of undergraduate students in Chemistry, as Dr. Layde had a passion for undergraduate teaching
