Robert Weisberg and the Family and Friends of Patricia Weisberg

Robert Weisberg graduated from Rice University and other schools and moved on to positions in the field of environmental monitoring, testing, and training. Jan, Robert’s older brother, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the UW School of Medicine and continued his practice in Kentucky. Robert established this scholarship in honor and memory of his mother, Patricia Hawkins Weisberg. Born and raised in Chicago, Patricia graduated from the Chicago Teachers College in 1943 and in 1946 received her M.A. from Northwestern University in Physical Education. Pat married Dr. Harry Weisberg in 1949 and moved to Milwaukee in 1969. In 1971, Pat returned to school and received an M.S. in Curriculum and instruction from UWM. After retirement, Pat continued to serve her community, including service on the UWM Alumni Association Board of Trustees. Pat was a creative and innovative person throughout her life, and both her sons learned how to enjoy life and give to the community from Pat and their father Harry.

Impact

Robert and the Weisberg Family want Patricia’s legacy of the importance of education and community service to live on through this scholarship and its support of UWM students who demonstrate innovative and creative abilities. Robert hopes that this scholarship inspires students to be innovative not only in their education but in their careers and in their service to the community long after they receive their degree at UWM.
