I am the daughter of two teachers. My father was a brilliant school leader. They inspired me to also teach, and I proudly earned my degree in Elementary Education at UWM in 1962. My husband and I have worked together to transform schools in impoverished areas.
Impact
Not only do I wish to honor the memory of my parents, but I want to also inspire people to consider careers as teachers. I know firsthand that a scholarship can be a strong motivator to keep students on track. We provide scholarships for undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. I prefer to assist those with a 3.00+ GPA who may also demonstrate financial hardship. I believe high achievers can make a difference in urban classrooms. I hope I can encourage students to teach in Milwaukee Public Schools.
