Michele Weinschrott
Michele is a seasoned development professional with 30 years of diversified experience, primarily in healthcare development. Prior to joining UW-Milwaukee, she served for 20 years as a Development Director leading teams at Curative Care, Catholic Charities, Community Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee Catholic Home, and St. Francis Hospital. She has extensive capital campaign experience, the most recent a $100 million capital campaign where she led the major gift effort which raised $32.6 million during the 2007 recession, significantly exceeding the $15 million goal.
She earned her BA in Journalism from UW-Madison and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). She was one of the co-founders of the Planned Giving Council of Southeastern Wisconsin and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Planned Giving Council of Eastern Wisconsin. Michele is a past board member of the Riverwest Food Pantry, Milwaukee Women’s Center, the Women’s Crisis Center (past president) and St. Robert’s Home and School (past president.)
Impact
Michele wanted to support students in the College of Nursing for whom dedicated scholarships do not currently exist. She feels that nurses are needed more than ever these days with the population aging and the shortage of nurses.
