Marjorie Wrezic

Marjorie Wrezic

Marjorie Wrezic has had a long life full of more experiences than one can imagine. Her humble beginnings in Arcadia, WI, and Depression-era economic pressures taught Marjorie and her five siblings the value of hard work and a good education. After high school, Marjorie continued to work hard, raised three children, and has had a very blessed life. It is Marjorie’s goal to share these blessings.

Marjorie’s daughter and son-in-law, Gwen (Nowack) and Michael LaFond ’95, direct this gift on her behalf to UWM to help deserving students achieve a college education. Michael earned a BBA from the Lubar College of Business in 1995; daughters Ashley and Lauren are Panthers, too! Ashley LaFond earned an MS in Educational Psychology/School Psychology and a Graduate Certificate in Trauma Informed Care in 2020. Lauren LaFond earned a dual BFA in Music and BFA in Music Education in 2020 and is currently working toward an MFA in Music at the Peck School of the Arts. Marjorie could not be prouder of her family.

Impact

Marjorie’s life experiences motivate her generosity. “I have chosen to establish this scholarship to assist you in pursuing your dreams. I urge you to use your skills and resources. Remember that no matter the difficulties in life, learn from your mistakes and always apply yourself."
