Lorena Jacobson
Lorena Jacobson received her Bachelor?s of Science in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota, and received her Master?s of Science in Mathematics from Winona State University. She taught mathematics for 35 years in the Milwaukee Public Schools, serving at Alexander Graham Bell (now Wedgwood) Middle School for 16 years, and at Harold S. Vincent High School for 19 years.
Impact
Lorena was attracted to teaching math because of the shortage of math teachers when she attended college. Because this shortage remains a persistent concern for educators, Lorena hopes to encourage college students who are proficient in math to teach by offering this scholarship.
