Kidiocus Carroll
Monyana Danielle Margaret Carroll (1999-2024) was a radiant soul—intelligent, bold, and endlessly creative. Her love for learning and the arts shone brightly from a young age. A proud Pius XI High School graduate, where she earned a 4.0 GPA and became a 2018 Presidential Scholar, Monyana brought her passion to everything she touched. At Pius XI, she immersed herself in the performing arts, finding joy and expression through dance with DanceWorks Studio, where she not only danced but helped shape the studio’s community.
She attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where she embraced her studies in African American Studies with fierce pride. Her academic achievements were recognized through the Thomas and Elizabeth Merner Undergraduate Scholarship for her exceptional talent in the literary arts. Beyond the classroom, she played a vibrant role in the Black Student Union, contributing to the Freshman Push committee and launching a creative campaign to join the executive board. She also found inspiration in her department’s AFRO Book Club, where her love for literature and community thrived. In 2022, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in African American & African Studies and returned to Milwaukee to be closer to her family.
