Joyce Hatteberg-Connor Scholarship
Joyce Hatteberg Connor was born in the late 1800’s in Marshfield, WI to Norwegian immigrants. Her mother insisted that all the daughters be educated. Joyce went to a two-years teachers’ college (UW Stevens Point) graduating at age 17. She was hired as a teacher at age 18 and spent all her life championing the education of all children. Four of her children became teachers. Her daughter, Sarah Connor, UW-Waukesha emerita, lead the family in establishing this scholarship for a continuing student majoring in education with a minimum of 6 earned credits and a 2.5 GPA first semester and 2.75 or higher GPA in following semesters. May be renewed for up to 3 semesters.
