Jean E. Hoffmann

Jean E. Hoffmann

Jean earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the UWM School of Education in 1960 and 1979, respectively. She taught elementary grades in Milwaukee Public Schools for more than 30 years. She takes great pride in being a patient and encouraging educator with an affection for math education.

Impact

Jean wishes to ease the financial burden and stressors on students while they are student teaching. It is her hope that her scholarship will serve as a “mentor” to students during these challenging times. She is a staunch advocate for public education and, as such, prefers to assist students who hail from Milwaukee public high schools and intend to teach elementary grades in MPS.

Jean believes that UWM plays the most important role in preparing educators for our community and MPS in particular. She hopes her investment will not only help to train teachers but will also inspire them to remain in the classroom for a long time. Furthermore, she hopes that we as a nation will be able to work in partnership for the benefit of the kids.
