I joined the faculty of UWM?s College of Letters & Science Department of French, Italian and Comparative Literature in 1972. After many progressive roles in academic leadership, I became Director of the Honors College in 1995 and served until my retirement in 2008.
Impact
When I was Director of the Honors College my goal was to systematically attract more outstanding students to the program, to significantly increase merit scholarships for the best students and to ensure that the Honors College had a core of talented young teachers committed to excellence. This is my way of continuing my work towards that goal. “I want to make sure that our exceptional Honors College students, especially those that are first-generation college students, are receiving funds to support their Honors education at UWM.”
