Dr. Ian Harris and Multiple Individual, Foundation and Corporate Donors

Dr. Ian Harris is known as the “Father of Peace Education.” He spent the majority of his career at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee pioneering in the field of peace studies. He was also passionate about preserving and nurturing a tract of wilderness in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood. Dr. William Harvey served as Dean of the School of Education and Deputy Chancellor for Educational Partnerships at UWM. His career spanned over 35 years and crisscrossed academic and administrative positions. Dr. Harvey taught courses in education, anthropology and African-American studies, and he focused his research on the cultural and social factors that affect underserved populations.
