Doris M. Vincent '64, '76
UWM Alumna Doris M. Vincent loves learning. A 1964 graduate of the University, Doris earned a BS degree in Secondary Education with a major in Spanish and a minor in Physical Education. As a student worker in the language lab, Doris was so inspired by her work with Peace Corps trainees that upon graduation, Doris joined the Peace Corps and served in Venezuela. Over the years, Doris pursued an MA in Spanish and completed her studies at UWM in 1976. Growing in her professional career, Doris continued her education earning her MBA from Thunderbird. Wanting to work in Latin America, Doris moved to Miami in 1983.

How did Doris’s UWM education journey begin? With a scholarship! Doris is forever grateful and inspired to assist deserving students through the Doris M. Vincent Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion scholarship. Doris is paying forward the gifts of scholarship and education that allowed her to earn her degrees and lead a fulfilling professional and personal life filled with travel and adventures that gave her a wonderful world perspective. Doris’s scholarship is intended to support and inspire the next generation of students who need financial support to pursue their goals and earn a degree at UWM.
