The Fund is created in Gary Elfe’s honor by his close friends and business associates, Mary Ellen Stanek (MBA ’84) and Charles Groeschell (MBA ’78).
Impact
This Scholarship honors the remarkable life of Gary A. Elfe (1955-2020), an alumnus of UWM and a leader in the field of investment management. Gary earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from UWM in 1976, and his Master’s in Business Administration in 1978. Gary went on to earn his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter. In 2000, Gary and his two closest colleagues formed a special partnership lasting for more than four decades, founding Baird Advisors. Gary generously gave back to his community in many ways, including service on the Advisory Board for the UWM IMCP.
