Arif Naim

Arif Naim , a UW-Waukesha alumnus, was the son of UW-Waukesha faculty member, Shamim Naim, and her late husband. Born on November 25, 1964, Arif started to show interest in books very early in his life. By the time he was two years old, he was holding books in his hand and reading. He did not know how to read, but remembered the story and words that were read. He was a diligent student who came to the USA in 1981. After graduating from high school, he attended Illinois State University. In 1985, he came to UW-Waukesha. After two years in Waukesha, he went to UW Madison where he finish his degree in biomedical engineering in 1989. He accepted a job offer from HP. A young engineer traveling abroad, he died in a traffic accident in 1994. His parents established the scholarship to aid engineering students.
