Ann E. and Joseph Heil Jr. Charitable Trust
Julius P. Heil, former Governor of Wisconsin (1939-1943), started the Heil Company in 1901. It became one of the country’s largest solid-waste disposal equipment manufacturers. His grandson, Joseph F. Heil, Jr., (married to Ann) was chairman and CEO when the company was sold to Dover Corporation in 1993. Joe and Ann’s daughter, Katherine, manages the family foundation.
Impact
This scholarship was established in memory of Joseph Heil, Jr., in 2008 by his family. The Heil family wishes to encourage students who demonstrate academic merit, leadership, and contributions of service to the community, on or off campus.
