Ali Nemati and Soodabeh Afshar
Ali Nemati and his wife, Soodabeh Afshar, created this fellowship in 2023, while Ali was enrolled as a doctoral student in Biomedical Health Informatics in the College of Engineering & Applied Science and also employed as a data scientist at Northwestern Mutual. Ali received his Masters Degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington.
Impact
Ali Nemati and Soodabeh Afshar create this fellowship to support other graduate students who struggle to attain their educational goals. Ali writes that, as he has been the grateful recipient of generous donations from others many times, he and Soodabeh nurture the hope that all students can persist in their studies, and become donors to other students in need.
