Melvin H. Miller Award

Awards are given for achievements in teaching, research or service by Communication graduate students. One undergraduate award is given to the senior with the highest GPA.

  • The graduate teaching award will be based on quantitative teaching evaluations, peer evaluations, course director recommendations, and other information.
  • The graduate research award committee will consider the quantity and quality of the work, contribution of the student to that work, and other factors to establish research excellence.
  • The graduate service award committee will consider the quantity and quality of contributions along with appropriate supporting documents.

Graduate student applications are typically accepted in December/January each year. There is no application for the undergraduate award.
